This year the Afffordable Art Shows show is now The New Zealand Art Show on the last weekend of July at the TSB Arena Queens Wharf Wellington.
I am on 4 panels instead of the 2 for this show which should help considerably in displaying my range of work.

It was touch and go as to actually being able to make it since family reasons meant returning to the UK for a couple of months. The trip however proved very succesful, being greatly inspired by the London art scene, catching up with fellow artists and friends and unexpected joy of joys being offered space with three London West End Galleries for next year. Some caution here concerning costs as a sold out show here may only break even risking significant investment, however the upside can be considerable.
Whilst over there some research was also possible into digital imaging and reproduction. With the arrival of 3D into mainstream media I looked into the treatment of colour itself and was able to talk to an image lab in the cutting edge of technology. One of two labs (the other being in New York) able to reproduce this king of work. My lips are sealed on the process however!

All the work is new especially for this show. I tend to only exhibit once a year so it tends to be the New Zealand Art Show (ex Afforable Arts)
In addition to recent work some digital developements will be on display. These can't really be called reproductions as the process goes through many more stages than standard reproduction causing each result to be slightly different.

I use dry water based paints made to my own recipe as only this gives the results required. Water or acrylic based painting largley concerns the art painting wet on dry.
Emulsions are very good at this but are hard to come by in New Zealnd unless specially imported.
This year I've evolved into new paints and colours which have enabled me to lift my game. Whether anyone buys (and whether it matters) is another question.

There was a general feeling the pace was less than last year however this is the halfway stage with the wekend to go.
It's always unpredictable.
